WALKING ADVENTURES
We are planning to hold a number of walks with a place or places to visit as you
walk or at start or end of walk.
We have a number of locations as possible starting points and would love others
to join us in the love of Discovery.
Vindolanda - A circular walk of 5 miles for the more adventurous. This walk goes
between two Roman settlements connected by Hadrians Wall. For the less able there would be the possibity of just visiting
the two settlements of Households and Vindolanda. This walk would allow time for visiting and walking alike.
Glassonby- A 6 mile walk that takes in lovely countryside and the ability to visit
Long Meg and her daughters. (Long Meg is a red sandstone Monolith and her daughters form a circle 560 ft across made of local
granite.
Ilkley Moor- Trips of various lengths to visit cup and ring stones and other famous
landmarks in Ilkley.
